Guidelines for Free Standard Installation.

While AquaHub is committed to providing Free Standard Installation of your home water filtration systems, every property is unique, and every system has different requirements that must be met to guarantee FREE INSTALLATION.

Below are some guidelines that will ensure smooth trouble-free installation,  without additional cost to you. Should your home or the desired location for the system not meet the product installation guidelines, your installation may be delayed, or you may incur additional charges.

A whole house filter, a softener, or a combination of the two will treat water in your entire home and require installation connecting to the main water line feeding the home or business. The following guidelines should be followed to guarantee FREE Installation.

  1. Location. The system must be installed on the same side of the home where the main water line goes into the home. This prevents lengthy pipe runs and additional installation costs. Any pipe that must be run longer than 10 feet will incur additional costs.
  2. Water Shut off. The water will need to be shut off to connect to the filtration system. Please make sure you know where the shut-off valve is, so you can advise your installer. Allow 2 to 4 hours for the installation.
  3. Pre-Filtration. While pre-filtration is not required, it is recommended you add a pre-filter to your system if you are aware that sediment is an issue in your area.
  4. Concrete Pad. Whole House systems are heavy when full of water. While not absolutely necessary, it is recommended that the system be installed on a concrete pad, much like pads used for the installation of pool equipment. This can avoid settling and straining the connections. If you do not have a concrete pad, but plan on installing one, follow your local building codes. If you Install a pad, we suggest a 24” by 36-inch concrete pad. Alternatively, if no concrete pad is used, the area should be well compacted, leveled, and a large concrete paver could be used instead.
  5. Electrical Outlet. Units with Automatic Valves will require electrical power nearby. Avoid using extension cords to reach the filter or softener to minimize the risk of fire hazard.
  6. Drainage. Units with valves that regenerate or backwash the unit must drain to a proper drain or to a ground area that can be subjected to water without damage.
  7. Building Codes. Should the Building Code in your area require pipe replacement once the pipe is cut or modified, this replacement will be at the owner’s expense.
  1. Location. Undersink filters should be installed near the cold-water valve. Please remove all cleaning products from under the sink and prepare the area before the installer arrives to allow clear access to the desired location.
  2. Cold Water Valve. The Cold-Water Valve must be operational, and installers must shut the water off before starting the installation.
  3. Drilling of the Sink or Countertop. If the system you purchase includes a separate Faucet, drilling a hole in your sink or countertop to install the faucet may be required. Select the desired location and let your installer know. If you prefer not to have your sink or countertop drilled, then you should choose the In-line Option, which connects directly to your main faucet. (Please be advised that you only get filtered water when the faucet is in the Cold-Water Position.)
  1. Location. Countertop units sit next to your faucet on your countertop and connect directly to the faucet.
  2. Connection. The diverter valve provided will connect to most faucets, except large faucets with multi-spray options, or an extendable head-spray. Should your kitchen have one of these type faucets, you should consider an undersink unit.
